2022年4月にリリースされたYocto4.0 LTS (Kirkstone)の4回目のポイントリリース4.0.4公開のアナウンスが2022年9月27日付けでありました。
当初予定より2日早く9月17日版で構築され、3日早い9月27日にリリースとなっています。

今回のリリースでの主な変更点：
　　〇 CVEに登録された脆弱性への対応
　　〇 カーネルは 5.10.137 及び 5.15.62 にアップデート
　　〇 テスト対象ディストリビューションにububtsu22.04を追加
　　〇 bitbake実行時の新規タスクの起動条件に、従来のファイルシステム残容量のチェックに加えて　cpu/io/memory の使用状況を追加

本日の時点で、9月17日以降 次のポイントリリースに向けたコミットは行われていません。

次のポイントリリース4.0.5 は 4.0.4の当初のリリース一カ月後2022/10/31 版で構築、QA後の2022/11/11 のリリースを予定しています。
